A local favorite since 1982 after being converted from a horse barn, the recently renovated honky tonk has added 400 feet of bar tops and a concert space complete with hardwood floors for dancing. Limited screenings of the entire thrilling franchise will dance across the waters at Volente Beach Water Park from June 30 through July 23. There is even a special 3-D showing on July 15. The general admission $55 On the Water tickets, which include a collectible Alamo Shark inner tube, can be upgraded to a BBQ dinner and collector Alamo Drafthouse “JAWS” pint glass.


Gruene Hall – New Braunfels, TX


After arriving at Gruene Hall, you’ll instantly realize why it was worth the five-hour drive. Built in 1878, the oldest dance hall in Texas has been featured in America’s most respected publications, from Country Weekly to Southern Living to Rolling
Stone. The high-pitched tin roof provides the perfect acoustics for daily live bands. You’ll either catch newcomer singer-songwriters or some of the biggest stars in country music.
