Orchard Park Permian Basin: An Assisted Living and Memory Care Community
Growing older? So are our parents. It’s inevitable. At some point, everyone ages and their needs change. Orchard Park Permian Basin is working hard to address these transitions with innovative senior living. They’re located at 8050 Dr. Emmitt Headlee St. (near Highway 191 and Faudree Road) in Odessa (432) 847-4700.
Assisted Living and Memory Care
Some seniors prefer a smaller home run by locals but others are happier in a larger community-based setting. The larger organization usually has more services and a wider range of amenities. Orchard Park offers a wide range of services in one community including independent living, assisted living, and Memory Care. By offering several health-based services, seniors can move into a community and, when necessary, change their care plan based on evolving health needs.
This is a great option as each transition of care is not as disruptive to the senior: they may be able to stay in the same apartment or stay with the same group of friends. The main change is in the care level.
Making Every Day Life Better for Every Resident
Eric Bartlett, Executive Director, shares, “Orchard Park residents know — and the staff know — this is their home. Our job is to make it the most comfortable, secure, and enjoyable home possible. We are privileged to serve, protect, and enrich the lives of very special individuals. It is a privilege we take very seriously. We provide a caring atmosphere, an active community, and a comfortable, secure life for our residents.”
With the latest in convenience and services, Orchard Park offers each resident the opportunity to ‘live life their way.’
He continues. “With the latest in convenience and services, Orchard Park offers each resident the opportunity to ‘live life their way.’ They enjoy assistance when required, and freedom when desired. Residency includes a complete array of services and accommodations.”
Community Relations Manager Cecelia Hughley informs, “We offer gracious residential living with dedicated and knowledgeable staff available 24 hours a day to meet each resident’s needs. Spacious living rooms, private or companion apartments, formal and informal dining rooms, and landscaped outdoor areas combine to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for each resident to ‘make it their own.’ A full range of activities are available: cookouts, outdoor leisure times, and trips for shopping, concerts, and tours. All provided with the care, concern, and commitment of staff members whose only goal is the comfort, well-being, and support of our residents.”
Bartlett continues, “How do we know the staff cares? We don’t hire anyone who doesn’t. We have a two-stage interview process during which we discover the reason an applicant comes to apply. Each must be skilled but also must be compassionate enough to understand the importance of the work. It’s easy to teach the skills – it’s so hard to teach passion. We only hire skilled staff who have the passion and compassion to fully support our residents and the other professional team members.”

This can mean a lifetime of happiness for someone suffering from any form of memory-robbing dementia. Each of our trained caregivers is committed to daily making this philosophy real.
“Our Life Enrichment Program consists of improving the lives of each resident based on their personal history and passions. Our work is to design meaningful, fulfilling interactions with each resident helping them reminisce about positive, productive times in their lives and feeling safe, purposeful and successful.
“Working with our residents and their families, we develop a monthly calendar of diverse activities. We encourage and assist our residents to meet on their own to share favorite hobbies and special interests.”
Memory Care: Moments in Time Montessori-Based Dementia Program® allows residents to be as independent as possible, to make choices, and to be treated with respect and dignity.
“Family Services program is very important to us. Come see how we can support you. Evaluate us to experience the difference in our social setting vs. an institutional setting. You will know that we offer family caring and passion for the life of our residents. We’re a community, not a facility.
“Our social setting quietly assures each resident they will be treated with respect and dignity. It assumes the individual wants the independence to demonstrate their abilities and to develop new ones,” noted Cecelia Hughley, Community Relations Manager.
“The differences between a standard skilled nursing facility and our Memory Care community is a family perspective. We offer an approach that actually works.
“We have done this long enough to understand guilt,” she continued. “A great deal of our work is to provide education to the family. We want you to know what’s going on each and every step of the way. Our rapid response program is established to increase family communication and understanding for any issue or question.
“We understand you’ve carried a heavy load. Please come visit and let us give you a caregivers package. We want to remind you to take care of yourselves first. Let us support you.”
